error: svchost.exe - application error

I am gettin a pop up that says: The instruction at "0x009d96bc" referenced memory at 0x00000000" the memory could not be written.
 
My machine is slower all of a sudden. Is there anyojne that knows how to fix this? It started yesterday!
 

IN the event viewer, this is what I see:

Faulting application SVCHOST.EXE, version 5.1.2600.2180, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x009d96bc.

Post your model of Dell and OS.

Is this on startup? shutdown?  any other error messages?  does it blue screen?  suspect you may have some malware going on.  Run an online scan from bit defender or TrendMicro or KAV and see what shows.

Thanks! I uninstalled and reinstalled my HP driver. So far so good. I also ran a cleanup prgram and on start up the machine is much faster and no errors. Yet!!!!
 
If they come back I will let you know...
 
I have a dell dimension 8400.
No Events found!
