explorer.exe generated errors

Question

Hello, I have just installed a Maxtor 160 GB hard drive in my Dimension XPS T850r as a second drive for storage.  Now I am getting the following error message:  Explorer.exe has gernerated errors and will be closed by Windows.  You will need to restart the program.  An error log is being created.  Then a Cancel button, which changes to an OK button.  This error message keeps recurring about every 10 seconds. I am running Windows 2000, 512MB ram, 40GB HD as boot drive.
