Hard disk Password

Hello!
There is a password on my HDD.
When starting the notebook, he asks me for the password (I don't know it). If I push enter he shuts of the HDD and gets in to the Bios.
Is there maybe a jumper on the HDD to shut the password of.
Or is there a possibility to enable the password in the bios.
Problem Description:
Hard-disk #T25T5A2MGE9-595B , the system Primary HDD , is protected by a password authentication system. You cannot access data on this hard drive without the correct password.
Please type in the hard-drive password and press

Thanks for your answer.

thank you for your replay i live out of the US i sent a mail to the Dell costumer support and they send instant replay that says so:

Hard Drive Passwords
=============================

A "platter-lock" hard drive password is part of the hard drive alone. It cannot be cleared in the BIOS or operating system or by draining the CMOS or removing a soldered chip or a motherboard jumper. Not even replacing the motherboard will help.

Any new or unlocked replacement drive will work perfectly without hardware or software changes to your computer and without asking for the password. But when you try to access the locked hard drive in another computer, it will prompt for its password and stay locked until you supply the right one. It is just about impossible to bypass a platter-locked drive.

If you assigned a hard drive password and have forgotten it, or somebody else set one and didn't tell you, or you bought a refurbished Dell laptop with a locked hard drive from a company like eBay, we are sorry, but there is really no help Dell can offer except to sell you a compatible replacement drive.

A Google search can retrieve some commercial services for "cracking" or "reading out" hard drive passwords. They are expensive, however, so most people find it cheaper and easier to replace a locked drive than to use one of these services.

so it shows that there is no solution maybe you can help?
where i can call or send mail?
thanks very much

The other issue you'll face is that if there's a hard drive password in BIOS, and you replace the drive, the new drive will inherit the password. You must contact Dell in your location to get the password removed.

Call Dell and prove ownership; they will issue you the system-specific master password so you can remove the password.

If there's no password in BIOS setup, unless this is a very large (160G or 200G) drive, replace the drive. It'll cost you more to send the drive to a service center to have the password removed, than it will to replace the drive.

$10-$16 for up to 120gb, but no Hitachis or IBMs.They cleared a Toshiba 60gb for me last night-$9.95. Their method wipes the drive of passwords files format and partitions, so if you need the data on the drive, this method is not for you.
