hard drive error codes from diagnostic testing
I have been having IE, Outlook and other applications crash and display 1000 event Id's. I ran chkdsk /r on the system and it said there were problems. I then ran a complete hardware diagnostic test and I have received read,seek, and verify test errors for the hard drive. Error code: 0F00:1A44 Uncorrectable data error and 0F00:021A.
The system runs but applications crash on it spuratically.
The Dell Optiplex GX260 is not under warranty but I am not sure if these errors indicate a hard drive replacement is necessary.

Replace the hard drive, it's failing. Backup any data, you wish to save to other media.
Error code 0f00:021A, only means that you did not have a blank disc in your CD/RW writer and could not be tested by the diagnostic utility.
