HARD DRIVE MAKING NOISES!

My hard drive has begun to make buzzing noises, followed by very slow performance. It will pretty much stall unless I move around my laptop -- which then makes the computer perform normally, but once I set the computer down again it freezes up! I am no longer under warranty, however this is the SECOND time this has happened to me. I've had my inspiron 5100 for just UNDER 2 years and this is my second hard drive problem -- I'm beginning to think that I either have bad luck with hard drives or my computer has a cooling problem because I'm guessing my hard drive has over-heated.

Any suggestions? Should I just go buy a mac?
