Hard drive problem

I have a Dell 8200 with Windows XP.. Lately when I startup it goes to a check Disk mode when I pick inside Event Viewer I see errors like.. 1--The time provider NtpClient is configured to acquire time from one or more time sources, however none of the sources are currently accessible. No attempt to contact a source will be made for 14 minutes. NtpClient has no source of accurate time. 2---An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation. 3---The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume C:. The check mode will finish and restart again and will go back to check disk mode the some scenario will happen again and again (sounds like a loop). Just to stop this loop I pressed a key and skip the disk scan mode. then everything will be ok till the next start up time.. I am afraid my Hard disk maybe trying to give up? any Ideas.. or is there any registry tweak stopping the outo check disk mode at startup? I did restore back to where it was working fine.. Last change was installing Software which was missing its dll files. Thanks.. Deb..
