Hard drive?

First I received "Loading PBR for Descriptor" error, followed directions, seemed to correct problem, but then my hard drive kept locking up and now all I receive when I turn it on is "unmountable book volume".  I am under warranty, but having trouble reaching anyone at Dell that I can understand.  I don't want to offend anyone, but I honestly am having trouble communicating with techs.  I also need to resolve a service tag issue before they seem to want to help me.  I bought the machine new, but evidently the tag is registered under someone else and I cannot seem to resolve that without knowing who the individual is, which is impossible to know.  Need help!

Call the vendor from whom you bought the system, since it sounds like that was not Dell.

It was DELL!!!  They are the ones with the screw up on the service tag.  I bought brand new in the box.  They misshipped the computer so we ended up keeping it and paying them for it.  I won't do that again!!  I still have two years worth of warranty that is basically no good.  Don't tell me to go to the transfer service tag section unless you are a miracle worker.  I've been there and tried it repeatedly.  It says you don't need to know the previous owner, but it refuses to go on without it.  I have put in the service tag and express code.  Any suggestions?  I cannot get any more frustrated!
