Hard Drive/CD Burner Problem

Recently, my CD Burner has stopped working. I get the same continuous "please insert a blank or rewriteable CD into the Philips DVD RW  Drive" which I do but to no avail.  I ran a customized test as suggested in a previous thread and the results said  "IDE CD Rom: DVD-Rom SD-616E Read test error register: 0054h sense Inf: (05:6F03) unknown sense code. Error code 0F00: 021d, msg block 1068: possible use of incorrect media".  Also the last couple of days I gotten a message when I start my computer: "the procedure entry point?length@mixMLDOMNodelist@qaehxz could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreDll.dll". Does anyone know what this means and if its related to the CD burner problem.  Thank you.
