Try the HDD manufacturers website to see if you can download the software.

Do you have the manual?  Its online under refernce at this support site.  You need to enter the BIOs, then set the 2nd drive to auto, then reboot, and format the NEW drive.  Are you trying to replace the 30GB or add to it?  Adding is easier.

http://docs.us.dell.com/docs/systems/dim2350/syssetup.htm#1097056 is how to use the BIOS.  It means Basic Internal Operating System and it is how the elctronics are set up.  The whole system manual is online as well.

im kinda confused you can put 2 hdd's in a 2350 without additional brackets? eh makes no real difference anyways, was just wondering. so what youre trying to do is install a new 80gig hdd and use that as the primary drive? it appears you have both drives installed in the case (because you said it worked slowly, indicating it did work) anyways what you should do is install the new 80gig on the master end of the cable and your old hdd as slave. leave the jumper settings on cable select. then in the bios make sure to set to boot to cd-rom. put in the winxp install and let it install in the 80 gig hdd. then when its all done, get all the necessary updates, drivers, etc. after that transfer over any data/files from the old drive to the new one. you will have to reinstall all programs on the new hdd. then you can just leave your old hdd or reformat it and just use it for storage.
