Hardware Questions

1) Would a single 512MB DDR RAM Stick install properly into a Dell computer (Dimension 3000)?
2) Would a 126MB RAM Radeon 9600 AGP8x install properly into a Dell (see above)?
3) What exactly is Dual Channel... that's why I am confused about my 512 stick

Using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

1) Not if you want dual channeling.

2) No, since you have no AGP slots.  For card recommendations, use the Search function.

3) Two sticks operate together.  Improved performance.  So you match your existing stick or buy two matching ones and selll the one that came with it.

If you mix different memory speeds, it will default to the lowest speed. For example: If the system ships with 533MHz memory and you install 400MHz memory, then the memory bus will operate at 400MHz.
The Dimension 3000 supports non-ECC memory only. If you add ECC memory; the system will notify it as such and hang during post.

Dimension 3000 Supported Memory Modules:
DIMM, 1G, 400M, 125X64, 8K, 184, 512 Mbit
DIMM, 1G, 333M, 125X64, 8K, 184, 512 Mbit
DIMM, 512mb, 400M, 64X64, 8K, 184
DIMM, 256MB, 400M, 32X64, 8K, 184
