I cannot open my computer

Question

When I click on My Computer on the desktop, the shortcut on the task bar, or try to open the control panel from the start menu, I receive an error message:   Explorer has caused an error in . Explorer will nowclose. If you continue to experience problems, try restarting your computer.   I've restarted many times.  The error message will change.  Sometimes it's an error in , shell32.dll, browseui.dll, or shlwapi.dll.  Does anyone know how to fix this problem?   Thank you, Jaime

ANy new software or hardware

Have you carried out Spyware and Virus scans

My computer is a Dell Dimension L900CXE. I'm running Windows ME. I have done several full virus scans and spyware scans and fixed any problems that arose. My virus scans have not found any viruses. Can you help?
