IDE vs EIDE

I have a Dimension 4550. When I look at the tech specs, it shows an IDE drive connector. My question is, can I install an EIDE device in this machine? Thanks.

Yes, IDE and EIDE are the same thing, for all practical purposes. The initial E just means "enhanced", and is the standard on all newer machines.
