Installing second IDE as slave.

Have an older IDE drive in an older system with vital data.

Does my E510 have an extra port to install this hard drive as a slave?

Manual did not allude to that. Stated had 40 pin connectors for Serial ATA drives. Is their an adapter I can buy or something?

In the future, by using the Advanced Forum Search on the bottom of this page, you can quite easily find the answer to this often asked question.

You can easily plug the drive into the CD/DVD cable on the middle connector.  If it's unused, you can keep it there.  If used, you can temporarily hook it up to copy the data.

Thank you for your help.

My apologies for not using your search system. Adleast I didn't ask about memory.
