KERNEL32.DLL Error

I've been getting an error message that says "Explorer has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL.  Explorer will now close."  I kept clicking on it, and it won't go away.  I can't open any of my folders on my desktop or access the START menu, but my screensaver was coming on last night with the pictures in it from my folder (which was what I had set it to be).  Is my hard drive crashing?  Is there anything I can do?

mustangwild0201,

what windows version are you running? if it's possible back up your data and move up to windows xp pro or home as soon as possible. but coming to the main topic, i don't think your hard drive is crashing, most probably it's just windows problem.. however, you can run dell diagnostic and see what comes up as a result. and then post back here.
