Looking for decoding software for DVD-ROM, NEC DV5800A

Replaced hard drive on Dimention 8200 recenly. Installed all backup CDs went well however could not locate decoding software. Have searched in Dell downloads but have not found one with 8200 in compatability list. The software is listed as item 313-0940 "Decoding Software for DVD-ROM Drive, Tied" on the original invoice 01/04/02. The hardware is NEC DV-5800A. Drive plays audio OK. ON DVD computer says "no decoding software installed on this computer".

You should have gotten a disc with either WinDVD or PowerDVD. If the disc has gone missing, you can look for a DVD decoder plug-in for Windows Media Player online.
