Lost Partition

I bought a Dimension 2400 with a 40 GB hard drive.  I moved an 80 GB hard drive from my previous computer (where it was a slave drive) to my Dimension to be used as a slave drive.  I had it partitioned in to two 40 GB drives.  The Dimension sees only an 80 GB drive and I cannot access the files from the other partition.  Is there something I need to set on my Dimension so that it will recognize the partition.  The drive did not experience any problems before I moved it over.  I have all the jumpers set correctly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Either you had the drive partitioned by some third party software (where your current version of software doesn't recognized the format) or you have lost it.  Are you sure it is seeing the partition?  Assuming you are in XP, go contol panel, administrative tools, computer management, disk management.  Here it will tell you what you've got and enable you to reconfigure.  If you don't need the data, just delete the existing 80MB partition, then make whatever partitions you want. After that, format the partitions. I suggest NTFS - it is more stable than FAT.
