message at shutdown

Question

Every time I shut down my 600 I get a message rundll.32 is running and I must stop this task so the unit will shutdown. What is going on and how can I correct it?

I thought there was a fix for this on Windows update, try to update  your windows from there.

Well is it a C600 or a D600 and what OS are you using. There has been some reports of viruses doing this. They don't like to be shut down for any reason. Message Edited by Ed C on 07-17-2004 10:18 AM

Thanks for your input it is a Latitude D600 running XP Pro there are two programs that are not responding and need to have end task clicked before the Laptop will shutdown:

wmi provider. host

rundll32.exe

Any help you can give me is appreciated
