NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A device drive
System: Desktop Dell Dimension 3100
My DVD drive has disappeared from my computer and
in the device manager there is an yellow exclamation point next to the _NEC DVD+-RW ND-3530A drive.
In the device status the message is:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39). Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."
How do I find a device driver for my CD/DVD drive?
Thanks.

filipe,
Code 39 is a common problem. Try this...

Thank you very much for starting this thread. I have the exact same problem as mentioned here.
Rick, I followed your very detailed instructions about how to deal with a code 39 problem. Unfortunately I have gotten no resolution of this issue.
I wonder if you might have some additional ideas about this?
Thanks, Joe Battle

Hi, Joe:
This is a very common problem but the resolution is slightly different depending on your OS. Can you tell me what you have?

Joe:
Use the Fix It button on this page from the MS database. Let me know if that works or not.

It worked!,:emotion-1:
Thanks very much for your help and the resource. I posted a link on my Facebook page to this very useful Microsoft automated fix. Mabe it will help someone else in my same situation.
Again thank you for your most excellent resource. And also for taking a moment to help a complete stranger out of a real bummer situation.
