Need Help on picking program to open up after inserting CD???
Hi All,
I need Help... I know when I first got this computer when I would insert a Cd in to the drive it would prompt me for which program I wanted to use to open this with.
Now after reinstalling my CD drives when I was having problems, when I insert a CD, Windows automatically opens it up. I'm just wondering how to get back that list of options to open up. I went to my CD drive clicked on properties & I see the list under the autoplay tab it has 2 ways prompt me eachtime, or select an option to perform. I tried both of these options but still when inserting CD the windows opens it. please Help I want the options back.
I Have Windows XP (Home) Dell Demension 2400
HL-Dt-ST CD-Rom GCR-8483B
HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE- 8483B
Thanks,
Tony

Yes I did see your post Osprey only I have done what you said many times actually I did that before I posted here. I am thinkin' Windows is being used for my default player, but i do not know where to go to find out if there is a check mark where there should'nt be. I know when I went to the autoplay tab under my drive there is a button that says default. I clicked that & tried the CD still no options showed up. I have tried going back & forth appling the prompt now & the choose which action button but still when I put in a CD windows automaticly pulls up. Am I crazy I know when I first got this computer & put in a CD this option thing prompted everytime. You know like which program to choose Real player, Dell Jukebox, sonic recordnow, ect.... let me go back & mess with it somemore it has to be something I need to check or uncheck in my drive.
Thanks Again,
Tony
