Overheating Processor Causing Blue Screen?

On my 4100 with Windows ME, can an overheating processor cause blue screen problems? I just saw this solution another computer forum.  I notice in the past few days, that my fan is really loud and working hard.  My computer is located in a room with a ceiling fan and no AC. The room temperature is about 75 degrees F.  Unfortunately, can move computer to a cooler room. I plan to clean my CPU fan later today.

I appreciate any input!

No, an overheating processor will shut the entire system down.  75*f is not hot, I've used Dell [and other makes] systems in our 90*f plus Texas tempertures without a problem. The only thing that overheats, is me.

However, if the temperature inside the case is too high, you could see memory and hard drive faults quite easily - including some that lead to blue screens.

Thanks for your input! My blue screen problems are currently under control. I made a few tweaks to my system thanks to a wonderful site called: http:\\www.burzurq.com/forum/trevtweak.html.  It explained How to Run Windows ME Well (version 5).  Soon I'll be getting a new hard drive and loading Window XP on a clean slate.  This should alleviate many headaches.
