PC does not boot up
I have a dimension 4550.
On boot up I get the error message - Primary Hard Disc Drive 0 Failure, Strict F1 key to continue, F2 to run setup utility.
Please can you let me kow if there is a way to resolve this issue.

Thank you for visiting the Dell Community Forum.
One of the first things to try is to run diagnostic tests on the hard drive and see if any failure is indicated. On the Dimension 4550, you can press F12 during the system startup and from the boot menu there is an option to run the Diagnostics; this may help indicate if the drive is malfunctioning.
Also with the system unplugged try reseating (unplugging and reconnecting) the data and power cables to the hard drive a couple of times to make sure they have clean connections. Next try clearing the NVRAM (see below) and see if the same problem happens. You may also want to run the diagnostics again after these steps.
