please help error loading operating system

i have a latitude L400 with window xp pro it was working just fine then one day it wouldnt boot when i try after the dell logo i get a blank screen or error loading operating system on my screen please help i have no floppy disk and i dont have a boot cd

Try the recovery option.. Press F8, follow the directions.. if that doesn't work, you probably need to take it to a local hard drive specalist, or a tech in your area.  This could be so many things... And if you need to rebuild the drive.. this requires expertise.
