problem regarding gx280
I am trying to format my a gx280 and keep running into the same issue. I cannot seem to format the hard drive successfully.
I have switchted the sata drive to compatible.. hoping that it would work, and nothing....
Any Advice?

First run a 9090 Test on the hard drive. This will assure it is a good hard drive and you are not trying to work with a bad hard drive. You do this by hitting the F12 key on the keyboard one time a second when you see the Dell Logo on boot. Highlight Drive Diagnostics and press enter. If it fails call Dell Support at 800-822-8965 for a possible replacement.
If you are just trying to reload Windows, perform the steps at the following URL. It is a printable version. You can boot to the OS CD by hitting the F12 key to return to the same menu and choose IDE CD Rom and pressing enter, then Any key to boot to CD Rom when Prompted.
For WXP Reinstall Guide
http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/kb/en/document?dn=1089352&c=us&l=en&s=gen&cs=
Or Dell Knowledge Base Article Number TT1089352 for your search on support.dell.com
Let me know how this turns out.
