problem with laptop
I have a problem with my dell laptop I bought is last year July and I came with windows 7 and I upgraded I to windows 10. starting this year it will make some sort of clicking sound for about 2minutes, that the screen will freeze after that I switches off. when it tries to switch on again, it there is a invalid partition table, than it says no boot device found. when I try to reboot it I fails than tells me I have no hard drive. I sent I to a technician but he couldn't find any problem and he didn't hear the sound it makes. yesterday I reset my laptop thinking that it something I installed. the clicking sound came back and it still says he same thing when I switches itself off. I don't know what o do now, if anyone has a clue , please help.

Hi BundleOfJoy,
Thank you for writing to the Dell Community Forum.
Please run the diagnostics on the system (To Initiate, power on the system while holding down the FN key), let us know if you get any error message. Check if the clicking noise is from the fan or remove the hard drive from the system and power on the system. Check if the noise still persist to isolate the part causing the clicking noise, we can replace the required part as per the system warranty entitlements.
Kindly get back if there are any further queries.

Hi,
If you are getting I/O errors on a new external hard disk then it is always recommended take backup of your data as it could be a defective piece or probably dropped during shipping. At times, clicking or grinding noises inside your external hard drive is a symbol of hardware damage.
To resolve this problem, you have to send your hard drive to its manufacturer. Therefore, it is always advisable that if your hard drive is suffering from a physical damage, first send it to data recovery service provider to retrieve stored data before going to the manufacturer.
Thank you
