Problem with start up

I have an Inspiron 9300. When it starts to load this shows up on my screen:
Loading PBR 2...done
Bad PBR
No bootable devices--strike F1 to reboot, F2 for setup utility
I don't know what to do it was working fine before.

When I ran an express test I got this error:
Error Code 0F00:136C
Msg: IDE device failed Blank media or no media is present in optical drive. Test requires media digital data (resource CD, Installation CD).

What should I do?

That error is normal unless you had a disc in the optical drive. Run the extended test on the hard drive.

I ran the extended test and no errors came up.
I still get the same thing when I start up my computer.

Sounds like your hard drive has failed. Do you see it in the system setup (F2 at boot)?

where in the system section do you want me to look?
In Device Info it shows Primary Hard Drive = 100 GB HDD
In Boot Sequence it lists the Internal HDD.

If my hard drive did fail what should I do?

See if a hard drive is detected. If it is not, reseat the drive and try again. Still nothing? Replace the drive with a new one.

hi,
the hdd has not filed totally and this could be taken care by doing a clean os reinstall since the hdd is detected in the bios so u dont need to worry, try to disconnect any usb devices from your computer and the Delll systems have a special utility called PC Restore which can be accesssed by pressing CTRL+F11 at the dell logo when you power on your computer but it has tho be at the Dell logo and you have to press and hold down the  down the ctrl key and at the same time keep on tapping the F11 key 3-4 times veryqiucly and then let go off both the keys. this would reinstall the os and bring your computer back to day1 when you got it from Dell if this does not work then go ahead and do an operating system clean reinstall using the xp discs by deleting all the partitions on the hdd and doing an NTFS exhaustive format.     caution : both the processes will result in data loss .,
