result code (error code) 0F00-1344

recieved error code 0F00-1344. My system runs real slow and fails to boot half the time. checked it for my doom virus and did a complete system scan for all viruses, none found. scrubbed for spyware and adware. having major problems. ran my diagnostics disk and it gave me a Fail on the confidence test with result code 0F00-1344. can anyone tell me if my harddrive is shot or if i should just re-install windows?
