Just for kicks, try downloading and installing
VLC Media Player. This is a freeware DVD player. That might help distinguish between a software versus a hardware issue.
THANX... that seems to work.... So does that mean that its a software problem with the DELL media center, and so should I contact them when they are available on the helpline??
hey friend There is another good software called "power dvd"Try to use that software and uninstall dell media experince using the add remove programs. It might say that it cannot be uninstalled as it is being used.So try removing it from the startup list by doing msconfig
PowerDVD is commercial software, which you need to pay for. The freeware I referred you to will be suitable until you sort out the issue with Dell Media Experience.
