Shut down and close window problems

Question

I should probably post these separately, but here goes..... I have been having problems with my 8200 for some time, and I tried a couple of things that I'm afraid have only made it worse.  First, for some time I have been unable to close certain windows on the web by clicking the red X, they will minimize but they won't close.  Some of them will close after a short time if I right click them from the bottom of the screen, but there are times I have several windows open that I don't want (they're usually popups I didn't want in the first place).  I tried a system restore a couple weeks ago, and I also tried re-installing Windows XP, but neither worked.  And now, since I reinstalled Windows XP, I cannot shut down without getting a 'This program is not responding' box for RunDLL32.exe.  If I don't choose 'End now', the computer will not shut down.  I know, I know, I probably messed this up myself, yell at me, I deserve it.  But can anyone help me? Also, is there a system restore CD available for windows XP?  I had one for my old Compaq that restored it to the original windows 98 settings, it was like a new computer, it worked great.  Is there such a product for Windows XP that anyone knows of?
