With Dell systems, you normally set the drive jumpers to cable select, but with your Asus, you might want to try the old master/slave jumper settings. Then boot to the BIOS and make sure both drives are visible.

CD-RW are really not practical for transferring hard drive information. They're simply too small. The alternative should this not work would be to purchase an external drive enclosure, drop that 40-GB drive in there and plug it into the USB port.

Thanks for input. How do you boot into BIOS?

Thanks.

Try clicking the 'Delete' key on bootup.

Thanks Bev. I was able to boot into BIOS, however there was nothing about this slave drive. Just master drive then slave drive then 4th master and 4th slave drive. I wouldn't know what to click on without Messing up the whole system. The new system is WinXP and the old slave drive is WinME.
