First and foremost, when you have a problem and you want a solution, please post the entire error message, not some funny 2 letter word 7b. What is 7b?. There is no error 7b.
stop 0x7B could a boot sector virus, among other possibilities. do i read you correctly: you can not boot to safe mode? if this is the case, it does not bode well for your un-saved data. point being, as a software download is not likely to cause hardware to fail, the likely culprit in your case may be a boot sector virus. the only cure for this may be a reinstallation of the OS.
Thanks for the reply regard the erro 7B. But that's not necessary for me. I meant ot give the poster a message and that is if you want help, don't be lazy. Post the entire message before you make any decisions as to what you got. If a guy is so lazy to write down the message, then he should be told. I recently had the same type of message and it could be anything but I realized what it was because one ended with KMODE_EXCEPTION and the other error ended with
DRIVER_(RQL_NOT_LESSS_OR_EQUAL). SO basically just saying error 7b makes no sense.

If the drive fails, replace it. If it passes, and the data is important, BACK IT UP.
