UDFRDR/CDUDF File Systems

Once a month I back up my Quicken files on the same CD-R disc.  There are currently 8 files on the disc.  When I try to read them back one of two things happens.

1) I can read all 8 back when when Windows Explorer says the File System is "CDUDF' for the disc.

2) I can only read 3 of the 8 files on the same disc when Windows Explorer says the Fle System is "UDFRDR" for the disc.  It also indicates that the disc is full which I know is not true.

Either situation seems to occur randomly on the same disc.  I don't understand the two formats or how to control them.  I have an older version of Roxio in use.

Running Windows XP with updates on a 5150 Laptop.

Thank you,

jack

this is not a remedy for your present problem but if you value your backup files then can I suggest you store them on an usb memory key instead of a cdrw.

the risk of corruption/loss is far smaller than with your present media.
