Unable to Eject Discs during Installs

When I try to install a game for example, that contains more than 1 disc, when I try to eject the disc to insert the second disc, the computer won't eject the disc. The hardware button and software eject function in My Computer both fail, yet when I reboot the computer, the hardware eject and software eject both work fine, and the drive is perfectly normal. I'm running an Inspiration 9100 with the 4X DVD+R/W drive. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
