weird cd-rw problem

Question

Ok I have a very weird problem going on. When I go to record a cd it goes through saying its being done..but when its done nothings on the cd. I cant reuse the cd cause it says its full. I uninstalled the drivers I have no idea whats going on.   I have E CD C5. I'm open to any advice. Thanx in advance. Oh I should say that I can play cds just cant burn them.     I cannot burn anything. Pictures, copy other cd's or files that I have.   Oh and when its done trying to burn..instead of asking me to finalize it says its trying to write table of contents..ejects my cd as asks for one for it to write.     More info:   I have a DIM4300   I'm using windows xp home sp1   I'm using cdr's (tried 2 different brands fuji, and memorex)   I've downloaded the music i'm trying to burn. Had success burning the same files before just now I cannot.   Cd-rw model number is:HL-DT-ST CD-RW GCE-8160B   File type is mp3   No software, or hardware changes   thanx in advance.

Hi Boo_hoo,You might get lucky and use the the Restore Feature in Windows XP to rol the system back to a date before this started.Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 100, article 17.Next, you could consider checking Roxio site and apply the latest available update for your versions 5. My condolence to the deceased Boo Hoo, I too have had to lay a drive or two away to rest !!

Since DVD/RW are cheaper now, you might consider looking at one for a replacement.
