windows error message: system 32\autoexec.nt
Hopefully someone can help me with the following: I was reloading approved company software (VPN)on my Dell that would permit to check my emails from home. I downloaded the VPNSetup.exe file to "My Documents". I then double-clicked on the "exe" file to continue and received the following banner text: 16 bit Windows Subsystem. The message in the box said: "C:\windows\System 32\Autoexec.NT The System file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "close" to terminate the application." I have loaded this software before and never received the above message, nor do I know what it means. Can anyone advise on how to fix this so that I may be able to access my work emails via VPN? Is there a specific download that I can use to fix. Thank, and I look forward to feedback

I tried the fix program, but when I again tried to run sysedit, a window called System Configuration Editor opened. It contained 4 windows: System.ini, Win.ini, Config.sys and Autoexec.bat and an error message that said C:\AUTOEXEC.BAT Cannot open this file.
config.sys and autoexec.bat windows are empty. System.ini contains:
