Hi,
Did you happen to write down the error message on the blue screen when it came up? If not, all the XP drivers for that system can be found on the downloads page for the E5400
You may also want to take a look at this article: "How to identify and troubleshoot potential OS Reinstall or Drivers issues on my Dell Latitude notebook computer?" <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> That should lead you to the correct drivers, and sequence, for installing XP on that notebook.
I hope this helps. If not, please come back and let us know the specific blue screen error message that you are receiving and we'll see if there is anything else we can do to help.

Hi Tood,
thank you for your fast help.
Unfortunateleity I have not found the driver.
Here a detailed explanation:
I Would install a dual Boot system with Windows 7 (already installed) and Windows XP.
In BIOS is AHCI activ. During the windows XP install I get the blue screen with
0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC000034, 0x0000000, 0x0000000)
If I use during the installation with F6 the driver from "Intel_Rapid-Storage-Technolo_A04_R264761.exe" I get the same blue screen.
On your sent link "How to identify ...." I can't find the latotude E4500:(
Thanks for your help.
Best regards
Frank

Hi Frank,
I didn't realize you were trying to dual boot two versions of Windows. We don't normally support that here on the forums. I did do a google search and found several articles. like this one, that explains the procedure. You might want to check it out as well as google and search other articles as well. It seems there are some very specific steps you need to take, depending on which version is already installed on your system.
Sorry I can't be of more help but you may be able to find more information elsewhere.

I know this is an old thread old but someone may find this useful. I recently installed XP on the e5400 laptop and had the blue screen error early in the install, got around it by going into the bios and turning off The advanced SATA HD operation AHCI. I Don't think XP supports it (it may after SP3 but my XP install disk was with SP2) Oddly after I applied SP3 separately my DVD player stopped working... That's why I'm here!
