Hardware Scan causes boot error.
Hardware scan runs every day. After it runs I must reboot every time.
This is problematic in and of itself (rebooting is a time suck and closes apps I would prefer to be able to leave open and use each morning.)
But 40% of the time it causes an error reboot asking me if I want to run a diagnostic reboot (F12)
Unless I read about a solution here I will be editing the Registry to stop hardware scan

Hi AbuCharlie:
What is the model of your Dell computer and what is your current BIOS version?
Have you tried running the Enhanced Pre-Boot System Assessment (ePSA) diagnostics to see if it detects a hardware issue? Instructions are posted <here> for my Inspiron 5584 but I'm not sure if your model uses the same method to start these diagnostics.
If your ePSA diagnostic don't detect a problem see my 05-13-2021 post in DanDaMiniFig's Dell G7 17 7790 Possible SupportAssist Error. Is Secure Boot turned on in your BIOS settings, and if so does disabling Secure Boot stop these hardware scans?
If Secure Boot isn't the cause, do you have the latest Dell SupportAssist v3.9.0 installed, and does disabling Automated Scans and Optimizations in the Dell SupportAssist settings stop this daily hardware scan?
