Dell PowerEdge R630 with vm5 esxcli 5.5 OMSA 7.4 "No storage controllers detected."
I have installed OMSA 7.4 on a dell server and went through the remote login for a VMWare server (brand new) installed PowerEdge R630 perc H730p Raid Controller. Also the OMSA is installed on a new Dell server (CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)) and gets the same message "No storage controllers detected."
So whether I manage a remote server or the host server, OMSA shows "No storage controllers detected." for Storage option.
How can I fix this?

In OMSA on the linux guest try the following
1. Stop all the services “srvadmin-services.sh stop”
2. Go to /opt/dell/srvadmin/etc/srvadmin-storage/ directory
3. Open stsvc.ini file
4. Comment the line - vil7=dsm_sm_psrvil. For commenting it out, you need to write ";" and one space before the statement, like "; vil7=dsm_sm_psrvil"
5. Save and close stsvc.ini file
6. Start all the services: “srvadmin-services.sh start”

Commented out the line & restarted the services but still the same issue:
; Libraries to be loaded at startup of the Systems Management Data Manager, in order, beginning with entry 0.

Are you using our version of ESXi? The Vmware one may not have the proper driver, which is causing the tab to not show up.
- Check lsi Driver installed in the system
~ # esxcli software vib list | grep -i lsi
scsi-megaraid-perc9 6.901.55.00-1OEM.550.0.0.1331820 LSI VMwareCertified 2015-01-22
lsi-mr3 0.255.03.01-2vmw.550.1.16.1746018 VMware VMwareCertified 2015-01-22
- Check the driver used by the PERC controller
~ # esxcfg-scsidevs –a | grep –i PERC
vmhba2 lsi-mr3 link-n/a unknown.vmhba2 (0:3:0.0) LSI / Symbios Logic Dell PERC H730P Adapter
Download https://my.vmware.com/web/vmware/details?downloadGroup=DT-ESX55-LSI-SCSI-MEGARAID-PERC9-69035500-1OEM&productId=353
- Install PERC9 driver

It looks like it sees it as an LSI controller and not a PERC. You can try manually installing the vib or you can install using our image and starting with a new vmware install.

Actually that did the trick! It worked finally!.. One last question is it possible to create a raid10 from 4 HDD drives I inserted into 4 of the slots through OMSA? Here is the info below:

Thanks again... Basically when I go to storage and create new virtual disk I get the error message:
"There is no free space available to create a virtual disk."

Ok done! Had to clear the foreign configuration of the inserted disks and they were ready to use. Thanks again your guidance was really helpful!
