Android 5.0 Lollipop coming to the Venue 8 7840 Tablet.
It has been remarked on a few places in the forums that the Venue 8 7840 series doesn't ship with Lollipop. I have been informed that Lollipop is expected to be available via OTA for the 7840 sometime in February
I will post again once I have specific dates when the OTA will be available and any information on the availability of Lollipop for other models of Dell tablets.

Currently the Lollipop OTA is expected on April 21 and it will be version 5.01. I will post here if I receive any new information.

I'm with you , having a top tier tablet with little memory options is no good, I would like lollipop update now and I need to be able to move things from the internal memory to the SD card. Thanks

he should never have posted such useless info, that's why he stopped posting, he posted incorrect info, when it went south so did he. Terry's post started all this trouble, people thought Terry knew something when in fact he knew nothing, just posted.

Way too many Forum Terms of Use violations on this thread. Being a Dell funded and hosted USA Forum, the Terms of Use (which you agreed to when joining) has two very important lines:

Forum Terms of Use violations =
* The usage of profanity, including character substitution, abbreviations
* Spamming other users thread. Posting your opinion on other user threads is just exacerbating them
* Any statement or username defined by us as litigious, libelous, slanderous, soliciting other users against Dell
* The posting of litigious agencies and/or their contact information, or any other legalistic discussion
* The posting of Dell employee full name, email address, phone number
* A post which contains false or deceptive language, unsubstantiated or comparative claims regarding our or others products, third party advertising, spam, chain letters
* A post that is harassing, defamatory, abusive, pornographic, obscene, or otherwise objectionable in our opinion
* The posting of social, religious, or political statements

Unfortunately I have little news to add. The Android Lollipop update for the Venue 8 7840 was scheduled on the 21 and that there was a technical glitch at the last moment delaying the update. Dell is working on getting all issues resolved and hope to have the OTA available as soon as possible.
I will continue to post any information, including possible ETAs as soon as I have them.
