Unable to see disk rate on VMs using NFS

I think I know the root of the problem...it's because, in vCenter, it doesn't track disk rate for vmdks on NFS with the standard disk rate metric.  vCenter actually uses "Virtual Disk Rate" instead.  But, it seems all the default counters for vFoglight aren't looking at "Virtual Disk Rate" but "Disk Rate" so all my VMs show up with No Data Available when trying to determine their disk throughput.

Is there anyway to change this behavior?

There are some requirements in order to get NFS metrics:

  • vSphere 4.1 and later
  • vFoglight 6.6 and FGLAM based VMware agent
  • NFS metrics not shown on default dashboards, only exposed in custom dashboard through drag and drop.
    • This will change in an upcoming release.

I don´t have any NFS datastores in my lab so I can´t show you an example dashboard with NFS metrics. If I get my hands on a lab with NFS I will post back some screenshots here.
