Hi dalem,  The newest version of HJT will create it's own folder on the desktop.  Double click on that icon to see if the HJT.exe opens.  There is no longer a problem with running it from there, as the files and backups created will store in the folder instead of all over the desktop.  I am going to give you several links with different perspectives for getting a HJT log posted at a forum.  If, after viewing these tutorials you still have questions, please post them.  Make sure to stay in this same thread using the REPLY button:

Here is a little information about that item.  I would suggest that I rarely see one item in a HJT log.  Would be a good idea to have someone take a look...pskelley

Thanks pskelly for all the excellent instructions and info. I was advised to run this after I got Adware.CDT from somewhere referred to in an earlier post. Have a busy Sunday, but will try to get it posted today if possible. :smileywink:
