VNX replace firt 4 disk and reimage.
Hello,
On VNX 5500 for example i think to test the follow procedure:
1.Create one pool and one raid group.
2.Create some luns on pool and raid group.
3.Write some data on these luns.
4.Power off the array.
5.Pull out first 4 disk-Vault disks.
6.Install new 4 disk(regular disk from normal DAE, NOT from OS DAE).
7.Start VNX_boot_image_recovery procedure.
8.Check that all data is on place(the old luns with data on them).
My questions are:
Will the utility partition boot from normal disk?
Where is locate utility partition- on BIOS code or on firt part on vault disks?
Do i need 2 vault disk to boot utility partition?
All this tasks will be done on training VNX in our lab.

I do not understand why in the technical forum, when solving technical questions, to give answers about the service contract and the service center? we discuss the procedure how to recover.
i have a case to repair VNXe 3100.
Where is Disk 3?
We have no user data and can do anything (not to buy new disk). Can i remove faulty drive Disk 3, take any disk at the end of disk line and try to reimage?
I tryed to make a reimage, but admin password not Password123#, i can not log in as admin.
service password is Ok, i can logon as service.
If i have a service password, can i reset password for admin user by a easy way without reimage?
How to diagnose a SN of faulty drive?
I dont know how to find a "Disk 3", because i dont know how we need to start a count - from "Disk 0" zero or from "Disk 1". Does anybody have a picture with disk locations of "12-Disk-DAE'?
I connected my PC (as usual) to the COM port (to each SP), and COM-USB adapter works good, i can logon as service and type a commands.
all disks have a blue lamp, but i see a error message (at COM port, at power on)
