DLL initialization failed?
RUNDLL
Error loading C:\WINDOWS\System32\NvCpl.dll
A dynamic link library (DLL) initialization routine failed.
I dont see how this error is affecting how my computer runs except the media center doesnt work at all ..... i tried to turn off the start up item NvCpl.dll and it keeps the message from not popping up but then I keep getting a windows message that i am not running the full startup process and i should change it back to normal boot process, i have tried installing new nvidia drivers (since the NvCpl.dll is from nvidia?) but nothing is keeping that message from reappearing. I tried to replace the DLL and then the comp stopped recognizing the cd/dvd drives, a system restore fixed that but other system restores fail if i go back farther then today. also i have two files in that directory, one is nvcpl.dll that says it is nvidia and another thay is just NvCpl that has no information, basically an unreadable file. the dell support installed on this computer:
- E510
2. WindowsXP media center edition
3. intel pentium 4, 3.00 ghz processor with 512 mb of ram
finds an error that says startup shortcut leads nowhere, and when i try and use the fix it option says autofix is not required and it fails, any ideas?
