error message
hello,
i'm having issues opening attachments or opening a document. it appears abode files are corrupted & can't open unless they are (decoded) converted to microsoft word.
error message: adobe reader could not open ___________ .doc because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (email wasn't correctly decoded).
Is there a way to correct without retyping all files effected?

Hi p a rogers,
I checked from the post the file that you are trying to open has a .doc extension. Adobe reader may not open .doc files. File with a DOC extension is for Microsoft Word. Adobe file would have a .pdf extension. Please ensure the correct program is associated to open the specific file.
To set file association for a .doc file in Windows -- > Right click a file in Windows Explorer, choose 'Open With' and select 'MS Word' from the list. Check the box to always open with this application. You may also check the link for supported file formats for Acrobat reader: http://adobe.ly/WOLNlh

Yes, I finally was able to figure it out. I refused to pay Dell $89.95 or $239.95... It will make you become IT tech savy with the quickness! Thanks a million!
