Its a Microsoft Printer?    if not what brand?

Have you downloaded the latest XP driver from the manufacturers website?

No, it's not a printer.  I's a keyboard/mouse combo.

Ok, here are the latest Softwares from Microsoft for the keyboard and mouse bundle you have

They are 2 separate installers, one for the keyboard, one for the mouse.

I really do appreciate your taking the time out to help me.  I was able to install the mouse software with no problems.  However, when I installed the Inteli Type Pro 6.1 32 bit for Windows XP (keyboard), it comes back with setup detected conflicting device software.  Click on next to remove software.  I clicked on next to remove, then I get that same error message "error enstalling ikernel.exe Ox10000.   I previously had a Logitech wireless & I removed all their software, but I am unable to remove the "itouch" portion under "add/remove programs".  I'm sure this is where the conflict lies.  When I contact Logitech, I held for a rep for over 20 minutes, then I talked with a rep for almost an hour & she could not resolved the problem & she hung up on me.
Do you have any other ideas & again, I thank you.

"remove the "itouch" portion under "add/remove programs"

Use a wired keyboard during this procedure.

You can remove it manually but can be difficult, I would first look in msconfig startup tab to see if anything Logitech or itouch is set to run at startup, and untick the box by it, hit OK.

Next search you hard drive for Folders (ignore files) named Logitech ot itouch and delete them to the recyle bin.

Restart the PC, connect your wireless usb keyboard see if MS software will install now.

PS2 , connect or disconnect these with the PC off

USB, any time you want.

Thank you for your suggestions & I followed them as outlined.  There was nothing in my setup with either logitech or itouch.  I also did a search & only had one itouch item in a folder which was a shortcut & I deleted.  I tried to reinstall the keyboard software, but same message popped up.

Did a little research, that error is due to a admin rights issue, you do not have sufficient rights on that user account to install the software, causes vary and can sometimes be very difficult to sort out.

Not sure what to do about it.

Well, this is a personal computer so there are no administrative rights.  Maybe I'll try to reinstall XP for a 2nd time.  The lst time resulted in the same error message.
Thanks so much for you help & the time you took in helping me out.   I really do appreciate it.
