NET Framework 2.0
I have installed .NET Framework 1.1 & 2.0, plus hotfix 928366 for the 1.1. I would like to remove them, I can remove the 1.1 but not the 2.2 and the 2.2 will not update, help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I understand, but I cannot uninstall the 2.2 using the add remove program.

Sorry about the 2.2 put it down to old age,
it should have read 2.0.
On trying to repair or uninstall in the add remove program, I get the following message.
HEADER.
An error occured during setup.
Patch package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the vendor that this is a valid Windows patch package.
Have removed the 1.1 and the hotfix.
Thanks

x86 is for 32bit operating system
x64 is for the 64bit operating system
I'm guessing you got a 32bit ;)

Thanks for all the help. I have tried the 3 first items on the article 908077 with no joy, I am about to try 'Run the .NET.Framework 2 Redistributable package at a command prompt' just to be sure, there are two packages,
1.(x86), 2.(1A64), which one should I use.
Thanks a lot.

%InstallationPath%\dotnetfx.exe /t:%temp% /c:"msiexec.exe /fvecms %temp%\netfx.msi"
Thanks for your patience.
If I have to manually remove the 2.0 as the instructions on the same article, to what extent would you think the security risks to be, the paper suggests one should evaluate them fully.

%InstallationPath%\
that section needs to be changed with the path of where you found Dotnetfx.exe file from the original install
you can always try to install 2.0 sp1 and then see if you can remove it. the manual option is always there ;)

That worked fine in part, it found the and extracted it, but came up with the same message 'pack package could not be opened'. So to the manual instructions, are you aware of any problems I could run into?
