Have received this message a number of times now - can't figure out what triggers it. the dell PC Checkup program is not running when it appears (at least no UI).
Microsoft has no solutions to propose...

Hi thanks for your suggestions. In the end rather than wasting more time mucking about with it, I uninstalled dell Support Centre -- never noticed it doing anything I couldn't do on my own anyways -- and everything has been working fine since.

Micah......OOps. Too late. I already downloaded the new driver. It was some big download. But so far, I have not had the PC Module Not Working error message, so I can't post the complete error message I was getting. Yay! But time will tell. If it reappears, I'll post the error msg.
I don't want to uninstall Dell Support Center entirely, like another poster has done, since I use the Center extensively.
The only weird thing I notice with the new driver is that my touchpad/cursor stops for a split second occasionally. But that's no big deal. Before the new driver, things would open and such from my touchpad that I swear I hadn't directed the cursor towards. That doesn't seem to be happening any longer. So a split second stoppage occasionally is preferred. The cursor actually gets a ittle windtunnel for that split second, like the program/driver is catching up to the movement. No big deal.
The PC Doctor part of the Dell Support Center, BTW, had never worked properly, anyway. The test of my system that I ran several times worked fine, except for the internet connection. It would time out & say I have no connection. That was false. I definitely had one, and it was working properly. I had firewall turned off, etc. So the PC Dr for that part just never did work. That's okay. No big deal. I don't care enuf to try to resolve that.

Rog,
We have traced your error to an incompatibility with an older Nvidia video driver. We are working on an update to correct this issue, and will have it available for download ASAP. In the meantime we have confirmed that the latest drivers from Nvidia's website will prevent this issue from occuring. In the event the drivers available at support.dell.com are not the latest, you can download the latest directly from Nvidia at http://www.nvidia.com/Download/indexsg.aspx?lang=en-us

pbryer,
Your issue should be resolved with the Nvidia driver update. We are publishing an update to repair this as well. In the meantime, you can update your video drivers (assuming you have an Nvidia video card) if you go to www.nvidia.com/.../indexsg.aspx

mooredc54,
As are part of this latest update, the Dell Support Center incorporated the latest Nvidia libraries and unfortunately some older drivers are not supporting these libraries completely. We have a fix in the works to handle this case, but in the meantime updating to the latest Nvidia drivers will correct this issue.

The computer we have is a Dell Dimension E521 desktop running Vista with an NVidia GEForce 6150 LE driver. How do I know what is the correct update? the version on it is 7.15.10.9746 and looks like hasn't been updated since 2006! Want to be sure we don't install the wrong thing

Thanks Micah,
I have updated my Nvidia driver and re-installed Dell Support Centre.
All seems well so far..........
Will report if problem re-occurs.

LynneLin,
I think you would configure the dropdown boxes at the URL I provided above as I have done below and then click Search.

I started getting the same PC-Doctor Module has Stopped Working alert a few days ago on my Windows 7 Home ed. Inspiron 580 machine. Looks like an epidemic. Have we all been infected somehow?

Same problem here with Windows7. It appears to me the problem is related to Norton's new 2012 version.
It occurs shortly everyday after startup.
Please let us all know.
