PC-Doctor Module has stopped working

Have received this message a number of times now - can't figure out what triggers it. the dell PC Checkup program is not running when it appears (at least no UI).

Microsoft has no solutions to propose...

I have an Inspiron 9400, Vista 32-bit, with Nvidia 7900GS with a driver from 2007.  I don't see a newer driver listed to download.  Now what?

Am reporting back for everyone to know that downloading the Synaptics driver 15.2.5.2 seems to have worked. I've been on my laptop a number of hours last two days with no "PC Nodule Nor Working" error messages.

I have an xps 15 running W7 home ed., bought end of November 2011.

Thanks for that suggestion.

I have an Inspiron 9400, Vista 32-bit, with Nvidia 7900GS with a driver from 2007.  I don't see a newer driver listed to download.  Now what?

Have you verified that you have the latest driver which was released in March of this year?  This can be found at http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-296.10-whql-driver.html using the dropdown selections as below.

I tried installing this driver & it would not install.  Error:  The graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.

I could install this driver:  179.48 BETA

Release Date: 2009.02.11

Operating System: Windows 7, Windows Vista

This is the newest driver for the 7900GS, but I don't know if it is new enough to fix the PC-Doctor module problem.

You could go to http://geforce.com/drivers and use the auto detect feature to determine what driver would work.

Since the Dell Support Center updated on 4/4/2012, I have been having the same problems.  I have a Dell XPS 410 Running Vista Home Premium SP2.  My Nvidia video card is an NVidia GeForce 7900 GS.  This driver is the ONLY ONE that will work on my system (version 7.15.10.9746 dated 12/7/2006.  Any driver I have updated to has resulted in my NOT being able to play DVD's .... they are pixelated and not viewable at all.  So Dell .... would YOU please get us a solution to this problem.  It was the Dell Support Center/PC Doctor update on 4/4/2012 that caused this problem!  Please fix it!

We are currently testing a new udpate to handle this driver conflict and the update will be available for download early next week.  I will post back here when it the update is published, although your computer may have already received it by the time you see my post. :)

Thank you for your reply Micah.  I have since uninstalled the Dell Support Center from my Dell XPS 410 as it was truly annoying having that pop-up window come up every so often telling me the PC Doctor Module has stopped working.  I will be monitoring this forum & will look forward to your post next week on the update/fix.  Thanks a bunch!  I'm not really mad ... just exasperated!  LOL!  :-))))

An updated version of Dell Support Center is available.  Please visit www.dell.com/dellsupportcenter to manually download and run the latest updater.  If Dell Support Center is installed, it may have downloaded and installed this new version already since it was published yesterday evening.  You can verify the version that is installed by clicking the Settings icon in the header.

After clicking the About tab, you should find that version 3.1.5907.39 is installed.

 

If you find that version 3.1.5907.29 is still installed, you can initiate an update by clicking the manual refresh button shown below.

I am having the same problem with my Dell laptop running 32bit Vista and I can not find a solution.  Has anyone found a solution?

Uninstall Dell Support Center

 

There is a link there to download and install.

 

If there is still issues, please post back here.

Thanks, Micah!  The updated version of Dell Support Center (version 3.1.5907.3) did the job on my Dell XPS 410.  As previously posted, I completely uninstalled the old version of Dell Support Center and then waited for the new version to be offered.  No more pop-ups stating the PC Doctor Module has stopped working.  The version of nVidia driver I am running for my nVidia GeForce 7900GS is 7.15.10.9746 dated 12/7/2006.  If I attempt to update this driver, my DVD's are all pixelated.  So, thanks for updating DSS and making it compatible with older nVidia driver!
