Wan Miniport Connection Problem

Hello, I run Vista on an Dimension 9200. Internet connection (DSL) hadn't been a problem, until recently. Everytime I try to connect, a "Connecting via Wan Miniport (PPPOE)"-window appears - and nothing happens. Soon after that: "Remote server does not answer." Strange thing: I get the same error message, when I disconnect the LAN-cable from the PC. So it can't be a provider problem... I am totally clueless since I didn't change anything. Except recently installing a new graphics driver. But this can't be the source, can it? After googling for an hour I can say, this seems to be a common problem, but no one can help! Please, anyone?!

Go to the Network & Sharing Center and reset/check the settings there. Get the correct connection settings from your Internet Provider and set it up again. More info about this in Help.

Thanks a lot for the quick answer! I wish I could've been of help for future "Wan Miniport"-victims - but coming home from work, the problem seems to have solved itself... it works again, and I don't knokw why. I hate computers. ( :
