Will Precision T3500 Run Win 10?

Dell website says it wasn't tested and no win10 drivers will be developed. Is it safe to set up a dual boot and try win10 that way?

Hi, OK It worked on Windows 10 1809, however Windows stops after 2, 5 or 10 min of working. I can log or connect to the network but sooner or later it gets stuck. It is even getting stuck during restarting or shooting down.

Change the power settings and turn hibernate off.  Make the Default power profile HIGH performance.

Windows will crash on older hardware because it sleeps everything in 20 minutes.

Change those timers to NEVER or to 999 minutes.

I am trying to install Windows 10 on my Dell Precision T3500. According to your post, there should be no problem. However, despite trying several times to identify the culprit driver, I keep getting a stop code (blue screen: DRIVER PNP Watchdog) during the first boot of windows 10 and then the computer rolls back to windows 7. I do have a relatively recent graphics card running Direct X11 (Nvidia Quadro FX 580). The OS is installed on a RAID drive 1TB (RAID 1). I'm not sure how to identify which driver is crashing the first boot. When Windows 7 rolls back, I see a message describing that there was an error during windows 10 installation in the SAFE_OS phase and an error during BOOT operation. The listed error code is 0xC1900101 - 0x20017. The installation logs are not giving me much help in pin pointing the offending driver. Called Dell support and they said they cannot help with this type of problem.

Clean installs of windows 10 work fine.  You have rootkit malware that cannot be removed.

Recovery Media to clean install is not hard to obtain.

After that you have to install chipset and video drivers for windows 7 as there are none for 10.

You download the cab file and save it into the my documents folder.

You then extract the contents of the cab file using 7zip.

Then you activate using the key on the WINDOWS 7 COA sticker.

Raid 1 is not going to work.

You need to clean install on single drive.

RAID 1 consists of an exact copy (or mirror) of a set of data on two or more disks.
