Windows 10 or Windows 11?

Question

I want to get an 8940 or 8950 XPS from the Dell outlet.  I can choose between Windows 10 and Windows 11.  I have two Dell machines running Windows 10.  I do not have a Microsoft account, and don't need or want one. If I choose a machine with Windows 11, my research indicates to me that I may indeed be able to configure/setup the OS without creating a Microsoft account, but that I will keep getting nagged to create an account. Is this true, or is there a way to configure a new machine with factory installed Windows 11 without creating a Microsoft account? If I do create a Microsoft account, my understanding is that Microsoft will assign a user name, which cannot be changed.  Suggestions are to disconnect from the internet when setting up a new machine, and create a local account with a name of my choosing.  Later, create a Microsoft account, but never use it.  Thoughts? TIA

I should add that I'm a casual user.  I don't need things like Snap Groups or the ability to use Android app on a desktop.  I have two Windows 10 machines, one is not TPM capable and the other is.  My main thing is that I don't want to be tied to a Microsoft account.

Hi , I purchased a dell XPS core i7 With Windows 11 PRO I ended up downgrading to windows 10 pro with Dells O.K. Windows 11 Pro has a lot of bugs. I spent a lot of time with Dell support fixing issues all related to windows 11 PRO.

1. Search indexer stalling and locking up. Had to reset twice per Dell support

2. Windows nagging me to activate windows 11 on every other reboot. Microsoft support told me I had to add/sync a Microsoft account VS a local account to fix the issue. I spent extra money for Win. 11 Pro so I would not have to add a Microsoft account.

3. Windows 11 pro downgraded a lot of features. Start menu, File manager, Context menu.

I did have to do a clean install but I keep all my files and apps on Back up drives so this was not an issue. Dell confirmed that my warranty would not be affected . These issues and others went away after downgrading to windows 10 Pro. Same License to activate. This is just my opinion but I don't think windows 11 is worth the upgrade you really don't gain much and you lose some nice windows 10 features. Just my take.

Windows 10 for sure !!!!!!!    Get a windows 10 machine, opt for a free upgrade to windows 11 and if you don't like it you can roll back to windows 10 in 10 days without losing any data, If you can't make a decision in 10 days you can still roll back but will require a clean Install of OS. This way now you have a license for both windows 10 and 11.    If you buy a machine with windows 11 you can not roll back to windows 10, it will require a purchase of windows 10 licence.
